 Remy Ma: Found guilty in ’07 Shooting
After finding guilty on assault and weapons possession, Remy Ma, Grammy-nominated rapper might face imprisonment of peiod of 25 years. This was declared by a New York court on Thursday.
The New York state Supreme Court convicted Remy Ma whose birth name is Remy Smith, over an incident occurred outside a New York nightclub last year when she fired a shot at her friend, accusing her of stealing more than 3,000 dollars.
The friend, Makeda Barnes-Joseph was hit by the hip-hop star Remy in the abdomen and required three surgical operations.
While prosecutors accused Remy of deliberately shooting Barnes-Joseph, the rapper's attorney has argued that the shooting was an accident.
The 26 year old Remy Ma was meanwhile cleared of charges including gang assault, witness intimidation and witness tampering. She was detained without bail and is due to be sentenced on April 23. |
