Michael Jackson: Fans club urges cancellation of tribute concert
Members of the Michael Jackson's fan club have sent an open letter to the late singer's mother Katherine to urge her to cancel the upcoming tribute concert.
on October 8, the 'Michael Forever Tribute' concert is to take place at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, and will feature performances from Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and others.
Although, the fan club members have predicted that the concert is "doomed to fail". They are also upset at the concert's scheduling at the same time as Dr Conrad Murray's manslaughter trial, a feeling shared by Michael's brothers Jermaine and Randy.
The King of Pop's fans are also displeased with Kiss being added the lineup earlier this month. The rock legends were later dropped from the concert after complaints about Gene Simmons's quotes about Michael's child molestation trials last year.
In Facebook, the page for 'Fans Against Michael Forever Tribute' reads: "From the timing of this tribute, in the middle of Dr Murray's trial, to the ticketing prices, to the obscurity over what charities will be receiving the donation, to the no-guarantee policy of performers, the addition of Gene Simmons and dishonouring, thus tarnishing, Michael Jackson's legacy was simply the last straw."
In this October concert, Leona Lewis, Alien Ant Farm, 3T, JLS and Alexandra Burke are also supposed to perform.
