Neil Patrick Harris: Proud of own career
Actor Neil Patrick Harris has said that he is "proud" of his successful acting career.
Harris revealed that he is "pleased" with his achievements and feels lucky to be able to take on roles in such varied projects.
The star told Parade: "I've been really proud of my career. I've been able to hurdle different kinds of demographics all over the place.
"I've got How I Met Your Mother, which is a mainstream comedy. I've got the Harold & Kumar franchise stuff, which makes me look really dark - uncomfortably so! I've got [The] Smurfs, which is a family film. It's important to stay as broad as you can be."
The 'How I Met Your Mother' star went on to say that he is looking forward to what the future holds, adding: "Right now, I think things are great. Thankfully, I'm in a position where I am being offered to do things that I'm choosing to do because they seem fun to me, as opposed to a sort of hyper-calculation of how one role can lead to another role.
"I found that to be the biggest trap in this industry. I'm lucky that I get to host the Tony Awards and guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance. If I could be Ed Sullivan at night and direct people in other things during the day, I'd be the happiest guy alive."
Recently, Harris compared himself to a "vaudevillian plate-spinner" when it comes to juggling his varied career.
