Donald Trump: Confident about self ability to defeat Barack Obama in elections

Friday 8, April 2011

Donald Trump has predicted that he could defeat Barack Obama in the 2012 US presidential election, should he decide to mount a bid for the White House.

Recently, Trump has expressed doubts as to whether Obama was born in the US and charged that the country is "going to hell" under the president's leadership.

Trump suggested in an interview with 'Extra' that, he faces more serious opposition from other potential Republican candidates.

"Look, the country is a laughing stock for the rest of the world. I say [Obama] can be beaten easily," the mogul claimed. "I actually think getting the nomination will be more difficult than beating the President."

Furthermore, the star quipped that he is confident Obama can be unseated because the politician is not taken seriously around the globe.

The 'Celebrity Apprentice' star added: "We are abused by other countries throughout the world and I really think it's time [to put a stop to that]. When [Obama spoke] about change [during the 2008 campaign] - the change was not for the better, it was for the worse."

President Obama officially announced earlier this week that, he plans to run for a second term of office as US President.
