Katie Holmes: Shocked by little daughter choosing penis candy
Actress Katie Holmes has spoken of her shock when her 3-year-old daughter Suri picked up a packet of penis-shaped sweets.
The former 'Dawson's Creek' star explained that during a recent trip to an ice cream parlour, Suri discovered the rude candy.
She told host Ellen DeGeneres: "Recently, I took her to get ice cream in New York at this place called Serendipity that we go to all the time. It's for kids."
Tom Cruise's wife, Katie, insisted that she thought the sweets were a type of US confectionary called Swedish Fish.
Although, she admitted that she was alarmed when she realised her child was holding a comedy packet of sweets shaped like male genitalia.
Spelling out the word, Holmes told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres: "P-e-n-i-s gummies. I said, 'Oh wow those aren't Swedish Fish!'
"They are called p-e-n-i-s gummies and they look like it. She was holding the box and I was like, 'OK, wow, we don't need that right now'."
Katie, who is married to Tom Cruise, then had to decide how to remove the sweets from Suri without making a big deal out of it.
The 'Kennedys' actress added: "I thought if I said, 'Put that back!' then she's going to say, 'What is this?' and I really didn't want to have that conversation. I was like, 'Why are they selling these here? This is for kids'."
