 Tom Hanks: To appear as guest star on '30 Rock'
Talented actor Tom Hanks will guest star in an upcoming episode of 30 Rock, it has been revealed.
The actor will appear in the NBC comedy later this spring, TVLine reports.
The stint will mark Hanks's first acting role on primetime network television for over 20 years, having last starred in Family Ties in the 1980s.
Confirming the news on his Twitter page, Hanks wrote: "RadioMan delivers msg from T.Fey [Tina Fey]. Result? I'm on 30 Rock! Thanks, RMan Hanx (sic)."
Other stars performing cameo roles in the current 30 Rock season include Susan Sarandon and Chloe Moretz.
Hanks's production company Playtone is currently developing a miniseries for HBO.
