 Robert De Niro: Promises never to join Twitter
Sir Robert De Niro has promised that, he will never join social networking website Twitter.
The star insisted that he doesn't feel compelled to update fans on his daily activities, in an interview with Parade.
"I don't Twitter or any of that stuff, which is fine," De Niro said. "I don't have a fan club that I talk to or whatever."
The Oscar-winning actor added: "My young relatives are into everything, so they show me. I use the computer, but Twitter's not something that I'm into. I think it's great, and it's not that I don't understand it, but in a way, I don't get it and that's okay."
Being more than four decades in the movie industry, De Niro insists that he no longer concerns himself with the celebrity status that comes with appearing in popular films.
"Some people get all crazy, they think that all of a sudden they are God's gift to whatever. Everybody is dispensable. Nobody is indispensable," he added.
"You have to be smart about it. Just take advantage and do your work and be happy you got to where you got."
The refined actor has appeared in more than 75 motion pictures, including the acclaimed classics The Godfather: Part II, Taxi Driver and Goodfellas.
De Niro will next star alongside Bradley Cooper in the thriller Limitless, which is released on March 18 in the US and on March 23 in the UK.
