Nicole Kidman: Bathing suit auctioned for cows
A swimsuit that Australian actress Nicole Kidman left behind in Sweden has been auctioned for nine Indian cows according to the report. This auction is to raise money to buy cows for poor families in India.
The bathing suit, which is currently on display in a second-hand store in the southern Swedish town of Esloev, will be sold to the highest bidder when the auction wraps up on Saturday, owner Zlatko Nedanovski said.
He said the profits from the sale would be used to purchase cows for poor Indian farmers.
"Today we have enough for three cows," he said, referring to a bid given on the first day of the auction on Tuesday.
The Hollywood star, Nicole Kidman left the costume behind in 2002 in the swimming baths in the western Swedish town of Vanersborg. She was filming Dogville in the town with director Lars von Trier. So that Nicole Kidman could swim undisturbed, she rented the whole baths for herself, therefore there was no doubt about who the swimsuit belonged to.
It was first auctioned for 30,000 kronor for the Swedish Cancer Foundation.Shortly afterwards, it went back under the hammer for 5,500 kronor for the Salvation Army.
The new owner of the framed piece of clothing, Bengt Olsen, is thinking of new ways for it to serve charitable causes. "There must be some way we can turn it into more cows," he said.
