Susan Boyle: "Studio is my sanctuary"
Talented and highly-acclaimed singer Susan Boyle has revealed that she is at peace when in the recording studio.
The 49-year-old performer, who released her sophomore LP The Gift last month, confessed that she feels safe in the studio, describing it as a "home away from home".
"The studio is my sanctuary. To return to it, well it feels like home away from home," Bang Showbiz quotes her as saying.
"The studio is like being inside a bubble and a place I can step away from the worry of life. As soon as I put the cans (headphones) on I know that I am safe."
Susan, who has sold over 12 million albums worldwide, said that she's more concerned with people enjoying her music than chart positions.
Reflecting on her success, she said: "It's a bit breathtaking, you know.
"For me, it's not about album sales or chart positions. It is that the people buying my music are enjoying it. They are the ones who will hopefully keep me in this business for years to come.
"I don't want it to end and I want them to keep enjoying my music."
Recently, it was reported that Boyle is worth an estimated £11 million.
