 Tyra Banks: To host fashion reality show
Supermodel-turned-talk show host Tyra Banks is to present a new a reality TV quest to find a fashion magazine editor. Tyra Banks and producing partner Ken Mok are again team up to create an as yet untitled CW reality series set in the behind-the-scenes world of fashion magazine, according to the source.
The series, described as "The Devil Wears Prada" meets "The Assistant," will allow ambitious assistants to taste what it's like to have heavier responsibilities at a fashion magazine.
In each episode, the contestants will meet two challenges, an individual and team competition. Each group will submit a page for The Book, a mock-up of the proposed magazine. The losing team's page will be dumped, and one member will be eliminated.
So far, The CW has ordered eight episodes that will begin shooting in April for a late spring or summer debut. Tyra Banks and Mok brought "America's Next Top Model" to UPN, which then merged with The WB to become The CW.
Taking on a news how is not the only change Tyra Bank is making to her life. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, she is hoping to marry her boyfriend of six months, John Utendahl. Of being tired of the single life, Tyra Bank said, "I go home and put my key in my door and ... nothing; no friends, no husband, no children. I feel so full when I'm at work but so empty when come home." Friends say that Tyra Bank is ready to settle down with her man, a 50 year old investment banker from New York.
Tyra Banks is best known as hostess/judge of the reality television show "America's Next Top Model" since its 2003 debut. Tyra Banks is one of only four African Americans women to have repeatedly ranked among the world's most influential people by Time magazine.  |
