Wyclef Jean: Sued by rappers over 'stealing' beats
Ex presidential candidate of Haiti cum rapper Wyclef Jean has been accused by another Rap group Blahzay Blahzay of stealing one of their beats and using it on his own record.
In a lawsuit against Jean, the hip-hop group are seeking $2m (£1.5m), reports TMZ.
Jean approached them for permission to sample their song 'Danger' on his 2007 album The Carnival, claims the members of Blahzay Blahzay.
The rap group allege that, they told the star he could use the song if he allowed them to appear on the album. However, Wyclef did not accept the terms and reportedly used the song anyway, sending them a cheque.
However, they rejected and returned the cheque, added the rappers.
Last year, Blahzay Blahzay filed the suit and apparently entered into settlement negotiations with Jean, but decided to resubmit the lawsuit after the talks fell apart.
