 Liza Minnelli: To perform again after collapse
Liza Minnelli, 61-year-old will sing again. Liza Minnelli's lawyer, Allen Arrow told The Associated Press on Wednesday, almost three weeks after collapsing during a show in Sweden, the entertainer was doing fine and preparing for her next concert in the US on 12 January.
Mr. Arrow told the Associated Press, "She was sick," but refused to say why Liza Minnelli collapsed while walking offstage at a concert in Sweden.
Mr. Arrow said Liza Minnelli was going back into rehearsals at the end of the week, and will resume her touring schedule on Jan. 12 in Providence.
The singer, Liza Minnelli was performing in a Christmas show Dec. 12 in Goteborg, Sweden's second-largest city, when she collapsed while walking offstage. She flew to the United States the next day on the advice of doctors there.
Liza Minnelli, the daughter of Judy Garland, won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Sally Bowles in the 1972 film "Cabaret." She won an Emmy for the 1972 TV special "Liza with a Z," and Tony Awards in 1974 and 1978.
Mr. Arrow said, "You wonder why she had the courage to get on the stage when she shouldn't have."
Concert promoter Michael Silfverskiold told the Reuters news agency a crew member caught her as she fell off stage, and that she escaped additional injuries. He said that it was evident that the singer was "in terrible pain". |
