Lucille Ball: Modern stars fond of Lucy's 50's hairdo
Singer Christina Aguilera's hair has gone through more transformations than Heidi Montag's face, so it's always interesting to see what style she's going to settle on next.
On the evening she debuted the raunchy artwork for her much-anticipated single "Not Myself Tonight," the diva was spotted exiting LA's Trousdale nightclub rocking a striking 1950s poodle hairstyle, which she paired with her signature blood-red lips and a nautical t-shirt. My first thought? Hello Lucy! Lucille Ball, that is.
Aguilera is not just the only celeb who's been spotted rockin' the "poodle." Kelly Osbourne emerged from Heathrow Airport in London sporting a similar 'do, albeit in a washed-out lavender shade.
Popular in the 1950s, the piled-high curly look was made famous by stars of the era including the "I Love Lucy" comedienne, who made the style her signature look.
Christina Aguilera, like Madonna, is all about reinventing her image for each new album launch -- a fresh look makes for a good press campaign -- and with her fourth studio album Bionic hitting shelves June 8, the singer is looking to create some buzz for "Not Myself Tonight", which is due to drop March 25.
Christina Aguilera's throwback style seems like it might have been much better suited to her last album, the retro Back To Basics, than her latest effort, which has been described as "futuristic", but that's the beauty of an artist like Aguilera -- she's not afraid to mix it up.
