 Regis Philbin: To host Oscar's red-carpet show
Producers of the Academy Awards announced on December 10, Monday, that, Regis Philbin is taking on more television duties.
Regis Philbin, who holds the Guinness World Record for the most time spent in front of a TV camera, and the host of "Live with Regis and Kelly", will host the official Oscar red-carpet show.
Dennis Doty, producer of the half-hour arrivals show that airs just before the Academy Awards ceremony, called the 76-year-old Philbin "the perfect guy to serve as host."
"He knows everyone, and everyone loves Regis," Doty said in a statement.
On Feb. 24, 2008, at 5 p.m., on the ABC, the arrivals show is set to be aired. The 80th Academy Awards are set to be presented beginning at 5:30 p.m. The ceremony will also be televised live around the world. |
