James Franco: To star in '127 Days' as self-amputating hiker
Busy actor James Franco has been cast in the lead role in "127 Days", director Danny Boyle's first film since the Oscar-winning "Slumdog Millionaire," Variety reported.
After being seen most recently on "General Hospital", Franco will play Aron Ralston in a true-life tail of a hiker trapped for six days in 2003 under a canyon boulder, where he was forced to amputate his arm.
James will also appear as Jane Krakowski's love interest on an upcoming episode of "30 Rock," as well as returning to the big screen in Allen Ginsberg biopic "Howl" and medieval drug comedy "Your Highness".
After graduating from UCLA, the ambitious actor also began graduate work at Columbia University and NYU in fall 2008.
