 Oprah Winfrey: Bans gospel singer Winans
Gospel singer BeBe Winans has been banned from appearing on Oprah Winfrey's talk show.
BeBe Winans, 48, is facing misdemeanour assault charges. He was arrested on March 11, 2009 on charges of domestic assault for allegedly pushing his ex-wife, Debra Winans, to the ground during an argument. He has a court date set for January 20, 2010.
Some people have raised question about Winfrey's stand after seeing Winans in her show "karaoke challenge" on last Friday, because Winfrey refused to have Chris Brown on her show after his assault of then-girl friend Rihanna.
Oprah Winfrey said that she is keeping the singer off her show until domestic violence charges against him are resolved.
A spokesperson for Winfrey told TMZ, "BeBe will not be appearing on the Oprah show until his legal matters are resolved in court".
