Franny Armstrong: Rescued by Mayor of London
Franny Armstrong, British documentary film director and climate change activist, has been rescued by Mayor of London Boris Johnson from three attackers.
Franny Armstrong, the director of recent climate change documentary "The Age Of Stupid", said that Johnson chased off a group of girls on his bike. She was surrounded by the girls while walking home in North London, last night.
Armstrong said, "I was texting on my phone so didn't notice the girls until they pushed me against the car, quite hard. I noticed that one had an iron bar in her hand. It was very frightening. At that moment a man cycled past and I called out for help".
The cyclist turned out to be none other than Boris Johnson, Mayor of London.
Armstrong said that Johnson stopped and chased the girls down the street, calling them "oiks".
The attackers then dropped the iron bar and fled. Mr. Johnson returned a few minutes later and walked her home.
Armstrong is the founder of the 10:10, launched in September 2009. 10:10 is a British climate change campaign.
The director admitted that she did not agree with Johnson's politics and voted for his rival Ken Livingstone in the recent mayoral elections. She said, "If you find yourself down a dark alleyway and in trouble I think Boris would be of more use than Ken".
