 Final box office tally for 'This Is It' rises
The weekend ticket sales of "Michael Jackson: This Is It", the film about the Michael Jackson's final days, in the U.S. and Canada has rose by 9 percent from initial estimates to a total $23.2 million, according to final studio figures on Monday.
The massive opening haul of the movie has forced the movie bosses to extend its two-week run.
Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group said that the movie has made another $69.5 million internationally since its Wednesday opening, up from an original box office estimate of $68.5 million.
The movie, "Michael Jackson: This Is It", is made on rehearsals, interviews and backstage footage of the King of Pop as he prepared for his series of sold-out shows in London.
The film was released worldwide on 28 October.
