Sarah Palin: Receives $1.25 million advance to pen memoir
Former U.S. vice-presidential candidate and ex-governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, has received $1.25 million advance payment to pen her memoir, official records showed on Tuesday.
The amount paid by HarperCollins to Palin was revealed in a statement of her finances as Alaska governor before she tendered her resignation on July 27. The amount was listed as a "retainer for book".
The 45 year old Palin's memoir "Going Rogue: An American Life" shot to the top of Amazon's bestseller list earlier this month, much before its November 17 release.
It was earlier believed that Palin had been paid close to $7 million for the book.
In recent months, she is staying out of the media spotlight and working on her book.
