Simon Cowell: Has an angry arguement with Jamie Archer
Simon Cowell, the mentor of X-Factor singer Jamie Archer, was furious after watching his rendition of the Elvis Presley song - 'If I Can Dream'.
The pair had an angry arguement for nearly thirty minutes after Archer was told by Cowell, not to sing the song he had chosen.
After rehearsing the song all week, Archer- 34, was told by his mentor: "That was well below par. You are finished if you sing that."
Cowell said: "You need to change your song and start learning the lyrics fast or you are not just going to let yourself down – but you'll let me down too," the programme insiders reported.
Apparently, Archer refused to sing the U2 hit 'Angel Of Harlem', which Cowell wanted him to sing, saying he didn't know the words.
According to sources, the pair then continued the row in Cowell's dressing room and they were so loud that they could be heard along the corridor.
A famous magazine reported that Cowell, fifty, insisted he was simply showing Jamie some "tough love" – adding it was "just showbiz".
But Archer was not too confident of switching to a new song as he wouldn't have had enough time to prepare for tonight's live show, which sees the return of judge Louis Walsh.
He said that with only 24 hours he would be underprepared if he tried to do a new song.
He went on to accuse Cowell of "wrecking this for me".
"They eventually calmed down but it got very heated – Jamie is absolutely shell-shocked by it all. We honestly thought he was just going to pack up his things and leave the show," a source added. |
