Two celebrities eliminated from 'Dancing with the Stars'
Politician Tom DeLay and actress Debi Mazar did rock and roll for the last time on the floor of the ‘Dancing with the Stars’. Both of them have left the show.
On Tuesday DeLay withdrew from the ABC dance-off after being diagnosed with stress fractures in both feet, while Mazar was eliminated due to low scores and insufficient fan support.
Each performed the samba on Monday's show. DeLay earned fifteen points out of thirty for his performance with partner Cheryl Burke. Mazar and her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, finished with seventeen.
The viewer votes are combined with judges' scores to determine which contestant would be eliminated every week.
Fan votes kept DeLay afloat. However the doctors and show producers advised him to quit the competition because of his injuries.
"I want to dance no matter what," added sixty two year old former House Republican Whip onMonday, but he reconsidered it on Tuesday.
Mazar said that she struggled with the samba and missed a key step during Monday's performance. Judges said the dance lacked sizzle.
Head judge Len Goodman said, "It was neat and precise. But for me, it just didn't ignite,"
Forty five year old actress said that she "loved every moment" on the show.
"I definitely know a few more steps, and I've had a great time," Mazar said after learning her fate.
On Tuesday Queen Latifah and hip-hop dance group Jabbawockeez also gave performance.
