Angelina Jolie: Met Iraqi refugees
The actress Angelina Jolie paid visit to Iraqi refugees in Syria and urged the world not to forget the troubles of those who cannot return home because of the trauma that they suffered and also due to the country's instability. A famous news agency has confirmed this news.
Angelina Jolie visited Syria to fulfill her responsibility as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations' refugee agency, UNHCR, and was accompanied by her partner, Brad Pitt.
Tens of thousands of Iraqi refugees have returned home from Syria and other neighboring countries over the past year. However there are quite a handful of people who are unable or unwilling to return to a country being shaken by violence.
A UNHCR statement quotes Jolie as saying, "Most Iraqi refugees cannot return to Iraq in view of the severe trauma they experienced there, the uncertainty linked to the coming Iraqi elections, the security issues and the lack of basic services," "They will, therefore, be in need of continued support from the international community."
