 Edison Chen: To star in first movie since sex photo scandal
Hong Kong-based Chinese Canadian film actor and rapper Edison Chen is set to star in writer and director Bertha Bay-Sa Pan's English-language romantic comedy "Almost Perfect". American actress and former fashion model Kelly Hu will also star in the movie.
"Almost Perfect" is Chen's first movie since his career was derailed by a sex photo scandal more than a year ago. The photos that were leaked onto the Internet in early 2008, showed Chen performing sex acts separately with eight female Hong Kong stars. In February 2008, he publicly announced that he intended to step away indefinitely from the Hong Kong entertainment industry due to the sex photo scandal, and instead, he will devote his time to charity and other good causes.
Pan will produce the project with Riva Marker and Derrick Tseng.
The story centres on a New York career woman. After too many years of being everybody's go-to girl, she finally gets a chance at love when she meets a man who's almost perfect for her.
The production is set for October 2009 in New York City. But, It is not clear when the movie will be released.
