 Eva Longoria: Back to school
Mexican-American actress Eva Longoria has decided to go back to school to learn about her Mexican roots.
The star of "Desperate Housewives" has enrolled in an Master's program in Chicano Studies and Political Science at Cal State University, Northridge.
The 34 year old Longoria said that she will go to school "because of her involvement with the NCLR and her charity work. She really wanted a better, more authentic understanding of what her community has gone through so she can help create change".
Longoria said that she also is polishing her Spanish. The Texas native's family is originally from the northern Mexican city of Monterrey.
Eva Longoria was in Mexico City last month to take on a Spanish-speaking role for the first time in a Mexican film about kidnapping titled "Days of Grace".
