Farrah Fawcett: Son sentenced to residential rehab
About five months back, late Farrah Fawcett 's son Redmond O'Neal was arrested for carrying heroin into a jail facility. This Friday he pleaded no contest in a Santa Clarita, California, courtroom.
He was sentenced to a minimum of one year in a residential drug treatment program.
At present, Redmond - the son of late Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal , is serving time for violating his probation on drug charges, in the Pitchess Detention Center. He is said to be moved to the Impact Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in Pasadena, California.
The plea was an expected component of his participation in Los Angeles County's drug court. But the sentence carries stiff penalties for the twenty four-year-old, if he slips up again.
Superior Court Judge Graciela Freixes ordered 3 years of formal probation and a 6-year suspended state prison sentence, which means, if O'Neal violates his probation in any way, he could go to prison for up to 6 years.
Sheriff's deputies searched O'rNeal's car on April 5, while he with a friend was visiting the Pitchess facility, and found heroin.
O'Neal admitted at the time that the drugs belonged to him, and on Friday he pleaded no contest to possession of an illegal substance in a jail facility and admitted the allegation that he committed the offense while he was out on bail. |
