Toby Keith: Voted songwriter and artist of the decade
American country music star Toby Keith has been voted songwriter and artist of the decade by the Nashville Songwriters Association International.
The 48 year old Keith will receive the award on October 18 for his hits "Who's Your Daddy?" and "As Good As I Once Was". Keith has written the vast majority of his hits since scoring his first No. 1 single in 1993 with "Should've Been a Cowboy".
Grammy Award-winning American country music songwriter Craig Wiseman has been named songwriter of the decade for hits like "The Good Stuff" by Kenny Chesney, "Believe" by Brooks & Dunn, "Summertime" by Kenny Chesney and "Live Like You Were Dying" by Tim McGraw.
The fellow songwriters have chosen Keith and Wiseman for the awards.
