Barack Obama: Received apology from television channel
ABC channel has apologized for a reporter who tweeted an off-the-record remark by President Barack Obama, where he called Kanye West a "jackass."
Sources have thrown light on this news of Kanye West. ABC's Terry Moran Monday night tweeted, "Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a 'jackass' for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT'S presidential". Moran later deleted the tweet though it can still be found online and ABC issued a statement to Politico explaining the situation.
The statement read, "In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview," "This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again."
However CNBC and the White House have not commented on the matter.
Since his Sunday-night rant, Kanye West has apologized three times for ruining Swift's winning moment, twice on his blog and once on Monday's The Jay Leno Show.
