Betty White: To receive lifetime award from SAG
American actress Betty White, who won six Emmy Awards and received twelve Emmy nominations, will receive a lifetime achievement award from the largest U.S. actors union.
The 87 year old White will be honored by the Screen Actors Guild for her career and humanitarian achievements at the 16th annual SAG Awards on January 23, 2010.
The actress is best known for playing Sue Ann Nivens on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and Rose Nylund on "The Golden Girls". She has also made regular appearances on the game shows Password and Match Game.
Betty White is also recognized for her affiliation with animal charities such as "Actors and Others for Animals" and the Morris Animal Foundation.
