'I Can Do Bad All By Myself' tops US weekend box office
Two new movies have captured the top places at the US box office this weekend.
"Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself" has debuted at the top of the US box office. This is Tyler Perry's second number one movie of the year. The comedy, starring Oscar-nominated actress Taraji P. Henson and Mary J. Blige, has earned $24 million to claim number one.
The animated film "9" also has debuted at number two with $10.9 million during its five-day release.
Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds", which was in second place last week, came down to third spot with $6.5 million.
The romantic comedy "All About Steve", starring Sandra Bullock as a crossword puzzle compiler who becomes infatuated with a television cameraman, finished at number four with $5.8 million.
Last week's top, Warner Bros.' 3-D horror "The Final Destination", has plunged to fifth spot, with just 5.5 million dollars one week after a debut which earned nearly 10 times as much on the final weekend of the summer.
The third and fourth debut in this week came from the horror remake "Sorority Row" at number six with $5.3 million and Kate Beckinsale's thriller "Whiteout" at number seven with $5.1 million.
The action film "Gamer" dropped six spots to 10th in its second week with $3.2 million.
