Kanye West: Apologizes for Swift outburst at VMAs
Kanye West apologized for his outburst at the MTV Video Music Awards, which held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday, September 13, 2009 and paid tribute to the late Michael Jackson.
While U.S. singer Taylor Swift was delivering an acceptance speech for best female video award for her hit song "You Belong With Me", Kanye West jumped up on stage and interrupted her. He said, "Taylor, I'm really happy for you and I'm gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time".
Kanye West, who was spotted earlier on the red carpet drinking alcohol, was told by the organizers of MTV to leave the awards show immediately.
Later, West apologized on his website. He said, "I'm sooooo sorry to Taylor Swift and her fans and her mom. I'm in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment!"
