Phil Collins: Restrains from playing drums
Phil Collins has said that he would have to stay off drum seats due to his back injury. He said: "I can never drum again."
According to the former Genesis star, even holding the drumsticks is also very painful for him because of the spinal injury.
The star expressed his feelings about the fact that he'd have to stop doing something that he'd been doing for over fifty years.
"I've got a condition that means I can't play anymore. After playing drums for 50 years, I've had to stop. Obviously I'm very sad about it. My vertebrae has been crushing my spinal cord because of the position I drum in," Collins said.
He also explained: "It comes from years of playing. I can't even hold the sticks properly without it being painful. I even used to tape the sticks to my hands to get through."
"But don't worry, I can still sing," he added.
Collins joined Genesis as the band's drummer in 1970 and moved to vocals after Peter Gabriel's departed in 1975.
The hits of his successful solo career include 'In The Air Tonight' and 'Another Day in Paradise'.
