Mickey Rourke: Comes back in 'Iron Man 2'
Mickey Rourke , who comes back in Iron Man 2, is extremely delighted with the turnaround in his career.
Rourke was criticized severely for his roles in Wild Orchid and Desperate Hours in the early 90s. He is proud to re-emerge as a credible actor.
The Wrestler star received the International Man Of The Year honour at the GQ Men Of The Year awards.
Before receiving the award, he said: "I just feel very grateful for the second chance - I burnt a lot of bridges."
He added: "It took about 14 years to start working again, and I'm very lucky that I'm in a profession where I just kept moving forward, s*** happened and I got an opportunity to work again."
Fifty five-year-old Rourke revealed that he did not think he deserved to win and that the award should have gone to either a soldier or a doctor.
Mickey said: "I think they should really give it to a soldier or a doctor or a fireman or someone. Why give it to someone like me? That's my honest opinion."
The star plays Russian villain Whiplash in Iron Man 2. While speaking on his comeback, he said: "I had a lot of fun making that movie, and I think it will be better than Iron Man 1." |
