Dame Vera Lynn: Chart success for oldest living artist
British singer Dame Vera Lynn, whose career flourished during World War II, has become the oldest living artist to secure the number two place in the UK album chart.
Seventy years after she first recorded the wartime classic "We'll Met Again", which has stormed into the charts at number two.
We'll Met Again: The Very Best Of Vera Lynn, a collection of her classic recordings, entered at number 20 last week. Since then, sales have continued to soar and the album has shot up the list of bestsellers.
Dame Vera Lynn, known for keeping up morale during World War II, was kept off the top spot by indie band the Arctic Monkeys.
The 92 year old was ahead of DJ David Guetta and US rockers Kings of Leon in the chart.
