'The Final Destination' remains atop U.S. box-office
Warner Bros.' 3-D horror "The Final Destination" remained at the top of US box office for a second straight week. According to studio estimates issued on Sunday, it earned $12.4 million during the three days beginning Friday. The 10-day haul for the Warner Bros release rose to $47.6 million, buoyed by premium pricing for 3D screenings.
20th Century Fox's "All About Steve", starring Sandra Bullock as a lovelorn crossword puzzle expert, debuted in second place with $11.2 million over the weekend.
Quentin Tarantino's World War II film "Inglourious Basterds" slipped one place to No. 3 with $10.8 million. The film has took in $91 million during its three-week run.
Other new movies like "Gamer", an action from Liongate, debuted at No. 4 with $9 million and "Extract", a commedy film, at No. 10 with just under $4.2 million.
"Gamer" is a thriller about real humans controlled by players in lethal games.
"District 9", which was in fourth place last weekend, slipped one place to No. 5 with $7.00 million
"Halloween II", the remake of the 1978 classic, which debuted in third place last week, slipped three places to No. 6 with $5.6 million.
