Miley Cyrus: Accused stalker's case sent to felony court
A Georgia judge has transferred the misdemeanor case of a fifty three year old man accused of trying to stalk Miley Cyrus to a court that handles felony cases, indicating that prosecutors are observing at stiffer charges.
Mark McLeod's attorney, James Byrne, said that on Friday prosecutors are trying to keep his client in jail without evidence that he is dangerous.
Police said that McLeod, who lives about three hours from Georgia's Tybee Island, traveled there in June and August looking for sixteen year old Miley Cyrus as she filmed a movie. He faces misdemeanor charges including attempted stalking.
On Wednesday a state court judge transferred the case o Superior Court. No new charges have been filed.
A spokeswoman for Chatham County District Attorney Larry Chisolm has declined to put forth any comment.
