Drew Barrymore: Sets to host skating event in Detroit
Drew Barrymore, a sucessful actress and producer, is now making her directorial debut with "Whip It" next month.
The "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" and "Charlie's Angels" star wants all movie and roller skating fans to join her in suburban Detroit next week for a get-together which is being arranged to promote her new movie.
The roller-derby film "Whip It" was shot in Michigan.
The 34 year old Barrymore will walk the red carpet and host the skating event on September 11 at Bonaventure Skating Center in Farmington Hills.
Those who are interested to join the skating event, are encouraged to bring their own skates, or skates can be rented.
The movie which stars Ellen Page and Barrymore, is the story of a a small-town Texas teenager who becomes a roller derby star.
