Dame Vera Lynn: Back in the album charts after 60 years

British vocalist Dame Vera Lynn is the oldest living artist to enter the top 20 of the UK album chart. She is now 92.

On 30 August 2009, Dame Vera Lynn's album "We'll Meet Again - The Very Best of Vera Lynn" has entered the chart at number 20. 

The Legendary singer, who kept up the spirits of millions of soldiers during World War II, had previously topped the charts in the 1950s.

The album was released to coincide with the 70th anniversary on Thursday of Britain's declaration of war against Germany.

The vocalist said, "I am extremely excited and delighted to be back in the charts after all these years".

Dame Vera Lynn's record company, Decca, said that the success of her album proved that music of its vintage and significance can still resonate with the British public.

Dame Vera Lynn got married to Harry Lewis, a clarinetist and saxophonist she had first met in 1939. After 58 years of marriage, her husband died in 1999.

British rapper, songwriter and record producer Dizzee Rascal has topped the U.K. single charts with his 'Holiday'.
