Jet Li: Returns to a Chinese non kung fu movie
Chinese martial artist and actor Jet Li returned to a Chinese non kung fu movie after three Hollywood productions.
At a news conference, Edko Film publicist Zhang Hongyan said that Li is due to start shooting the movie, tentatively called "Ocean Paradise". He also said that the film will be directed by a newcomer ans will be released next year.
Hong Kong-based Edko Film is the Chinese distributor for the movie.
According to the report of a Chinese newspaper, Li will not fight in the movie. But, when asked about the report, Zhang declined to confirm it and only said, "It's a movie that's very different from his previous movies".
The 46 year old Li's last three films "The Forbidden Kingdom", "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" and "The Expendables" were all American productions.
The film "The Forbidden Kingdom" marked Li's first on-screen collaboration with Jackie Chan. He has just finished shooting the action thriller "The Expendables".
