Diana Vickers: Set to make her debut in 'Little Voice'
Diana Vickers, the former X Factor finalist is set to play 'Little Voice' in the upcoming stage musical The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice. The producer finds the eighteen-year-old singer "perfect" for the lead role.
The Jim Cartwright-penned production is due to open at he Vaudeville Theatre on October 8.
The play is based on the story of a shy, reclusive girl named Laura, aka Little Voice, who lives with her abusive mother Mari (Lesley Sharp) in the north of England.
Desperately missing her dead father, Little Voice spends most of time locked in her bedroom listening to his record collection and perfecting flawless impersonations of famous divas
Her mother Mari's date dodgy club boss Ray Say (Marc Warren) was amazed by Little Voice's singing and became intent on making her a star and himself rich in the process.
Producer Nica Burns said: "With this wonderful play, you have to find your Little Voice first. To find someone of the right age - just eighteen - who is as special as Diana Vickers is a gift."
"Having found our perfect Little Voice, I was delighted that the outstanding actress Lesley Sharp agreed to play her mother Mari and the charismatic actor Marc Warren , Ray Say."
She added: "When Marc and Lesley first walked on stage together, the chemistry between them was instant. This is a terrific play and a great night out."
