Vic Reeves: Comments on contemporary comedy
Comedian Vic Reeves feels that the contemporary comedy has gone 'stale'.
He and Bob Mortimer have commented that we do not see anything new from comedians like Michael McIntyre.
Reeves, fifty, has told one of the famous magazines: "I think comedy probably is a young man's game, but it's gone a bit stale at the moment."
"I could have been watching this new crop - Michael McIntyre and people - 20 years ago. It doesn't feel like there's been that much new." added Mortimer, who is also fifty.
The pair have denied the speculations of resurrecting their surreal TV quiz Shooting Stars, that launched in 1993 and continued for five series.
"It didn't feel cynical bringing it back - there's nothing much like it," said Mortimer. "It's a gap that's never been filled." |
