 Brad Pitt: Laughs at idea of mayoral candidature
Hollywood actor Brad Pitt has been laughing off the idea that he should run for mayor of New Orleans.
Pitt told NBC channel's "Today" show on Thursday that he has seen the "Brad Pitt for Mayor" T-shirts that many New Orleans residents have been sporting for at least two months.
When being asked if he has considered running, Pitt remarked, "I don't have a chance."
Brad Pitt is right, at least as far as the next mayoral election is concerned. He and partner, Angelina Jolie, bought a home in 2007.
To be eligible, mayoral candidates must have be residents of New Orleans for at least 5 years before the date of the election. The mayoral primary is scheduled to be held on 6th February, 2010.
Brad Pitt founded "Make It Right" in the year 2007 to build houses for low-income residents who lost their homes during Hurricane Katrina.
