Paula Abdul: Plans to appear on Australian version of 'Idol'
An on-line website reported that the Australian version of "American Idol" offered Paula Abdul a deal to join the show.
The Australian show, which has four judges and follows a nearly identical format to the U.S. version, put a request to strike a deal with her in writing. The website has confirmed the news.
The website also reported that the door to returning to "American Idol" has not been fully closed, in spite of the Fox network's assertion last week that it is over.
A source told the website, "Don't count out a return to 'American Idol' for Paula. Sure there are bad feelings but a last-second return is not out of the question."
The source said that Simon Cowell has been supportive of Abdul behind the scenes just like her fellow judges Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi.
Other speculation making the rounds this week was that the ABC channel had offered Abdul a guest spot on "Ugly Betty." A famous news magazine reported that she would play a new temp at Mode who bonds with Becki Newton's character, Amanda. Also the much bandied-about notion of her appearing on "Dancing With the Stars" also can not be set aside. |
