Wanda Sykes: Obama's campaign inspired for talk-show
In spite of Fox's long pursue, Wanda Sykes was not able to host talk show. She was busy in acting in two TV series as well as frequent movie roles.
Sykes said, "We were on HBO and we could say and do what we wanted and I missed that. But I really didn't want to do a talk show".
Sykes said that she wasn't interested in hosting a late night talk show until Barack Obama decided to run for president.
Then Barack Obama ran for president and she discovered that she also need an outlet to discuss her views.
That desire has led to "The Wanda Sykes Show", which will start airing on Saturday nights on Fox in the late fall.
Sykes said that her Saturday night series will address the week's hot topics through monologues, skits and panel discussions.
Sykes rquested her viewers not to expect many musical guests, unless former Vice President Dick Cheney puts out a hip-hop album. She also said that in that case, "we're booking him".
