David Tennant: May come back to Doctor Who
David Tennant is expected to return to Doctor Who for a special anniverary show.
Matt Smith, twenty six, will be replacing Tennant for the new series due to air next spring.
The thirty eight-year-old Scottish actor while speaking at an arts and comic book convention in San Diego, teased fans of the science fiction series by indicating that he could be tempted to make a one-off comeback.
But he also told the audience: "That's not an announcement. Don't twitter that."
Before handing over the to Smith, Tennant will star in three Doctor Who specials later this year. He took over from Christopher Eccleston in 2005.
Tennant says he is highly by what he had seen of Smith, the youngest ever actor to play Doctor Who. he told the conference: "He's brilliant, which is annoying. There is no one who has worked with Matt in the UK who doesn't rave about him."
Doctor Who is now one of the Corporation's most important programmes.
Russell T Davies, the show's lead writer and producer is stepping down with Tennant. Fellow writer Steven Moffat will carry on the overall responsibility of the programme. |
