Whitney Houston: Previews comeback album
American actress and singer Whitney Houston previewed her new album at a listening party in New York City on Tuesday evening.
The singer unveiled a number of tracks from "I Look to You" in front of an audience including her only child, mother Cissy Houston, Alicia Keys, Martha Stewart and Dionne Warwick.
Houston told the audience, "It took us three-and-a-half years to reach this point".
The 44 year old Houston also told that her daughter's support helped fuel her as she geared up for her comeback record.
Houston said, "She was with me every step of the way: `Mom, you can do this.' When I get discouraged and I get like, `This is tiring, this is wearing me out, I'm just not at that point,' she'd just go, `No, mom, you can do this, get up, get up. She encourages me and inspires me, when I look at her and I look at her eyes and I see myself, I go, `OK, I can do this. I can do this'".
The singer will release her new album on September 1, 2009. It's her first album in years on Arista Records.
Clive Davis, long-time producer of Houston, hosted the show.
Among the new tracks on the album is "Million Dollar Bill", co-written with Alicia Keys.
