JLS tops UK chart with debut single
British boyband JLS went straight to the top of the UK charts on Sunday with their debut single "Beat Again".
"Beat Again" sold over 100,000 copies, the highest selling in the first week for a debut single so far this year.
JLS, who were runners-up in the fifth series of ITV reality talent show The X Factor in 2008, formed in 2007 but signed their record deal with Epic in January.
Cascada's 'Evacuate The Dancefloor' came in second place in the chart.
The Black Eyed Peas reached in third position as their single "I Gotta Feeling" climbed seven spots from 10th last week.
La Roux's "Bulletproof" fell two spots to number four, while Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" dropped one place to five.
In the album charts, Michael Jackson showed the strength of his popularity. Michael's "The Essential" retained on to the top of the album chart for the fourth week in a row.
The late singer also has five singles in the top 40 and 15 in the Top 75.
Michael's single "Man In The Mirror" fell from number three to eighth place this week.
