 Robert Redford: Marries in Germany
Hollywood icon Robert Redford has got married to his longterm artist girlfriend Sibylle Szaggars in the Hamburg city of Germany .
The protestant pastor Frank Engelbrecht, who officiated the marriage, said, "The ceremony was very important to them".
Around 30 guests have attended the marriage ceremony at the church on Saturday.
Robert Redford, 71, and the Hamburg-born painter Sibylle Szaggars, 51, have been together since 1996. Both have been married before. Mostly they live in rural Utah, where Redford's annual Sundance independent film festival takes place.
Redford, who won Oscar for Best Director for the film "Ordinary People", is also politically active and promotes environmental causes. He is politically liberal. Redford has four children from his 27-year marriage to Lola Jean Van Wagenen.
The newlywed couple are planning to hold an "official" wedding party in Mexico in September, Hamburger Abendblatt reported.
