Michael Jackson: Doctor says, "I warned him about drug"
A long-time dermatologist and friend of Michael Jackson said that he occasionally gave the pop star the painkiller Demerol but warned him about using the powerful sedative Diprivan.
Jackson's dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein, told CNN's "Larry King Live" that Demerol was among the strongest drug he prescribed Jackson and doesn't know how he got Diprivan, usually administered by anesthesiologists in hospitals.
Dr. Arnold Klein also said, "Michael at one time had an addiction. He went to England and withdrew from that addiction in a secure setting where he went off drugs all together".
Investigators are looking into the cause of Jackson's death. Diprivan was allegedly found in Jackson's home.
Dr. Klein said, "If you took all the pills I had given him in the last year at once, it wouldn't do anything to you".
Dr. Klein said on Wednesday that he came to know that while Jackson was on tour in Germany, he was using Diprivan, with the help of an anesthesiologist, to go to sleep at night.
Dr. Klein told Jackson that the drug was dangerous. He told, "I told him he was absolutely insane".
