 Jermaine Jackson, who is a singer, bass guitarist and former member of "The Jackson 5", talked about Michael Jackson on NBC's morning talk show "Today".
Jermaine, the brother of Michael said, "We feel him. We feel him in music. My mother said Michael is dead".
Jermaine Jackson said that when he first saw his brother dead in hospital he hugged him and kissed on the forehead and wished that he had died instead.
Jermaine said on the show, "I don't know how people are going to take this, but I wish it was me. I've always felt that I was his backbone; someone to -- someone to be there for him".
Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, died a week ago after suffering cardiac arrest at his rented Los Angeles mansion.
Unconfirmed reports following the singer's death have suggested he was taking the painkiller Demerol and that he abused prescription drugs.
An official autopsy was performed on Friday. The Los Angeles County Coroner's office said that there was no evidence of foul play, but also gave no cause for Jackson's death.
Results of a private autopsy by a Jackson family doctor have not been released.
Results of toxicology tests won't be ready for weeks.
Jermaine Jackson said that Michael's family "would be hurt" if they found out that reports about his drug use were true.
