 Neil Patrick Harris: In talks to host Emmy Awards
American actor and magician Neil Patrick Harris is reportedly in negotiation with CBS to host this year's Emmys.
Multiple sources are now confirming that after an excellent performance as host of this year's "Tony Awards", "How I Met Your Mother" co-star Neil Patrick Harris is being considered to host Emmy Awards, 2009.
The 61st annual Emmys will be televised on Sept. 20.
The Primetime Emmys are under pressure to stage a turnaround this year. Ratings for the Academy Awards, MTV Awards, Tonys, Grammys and Country Music Awards have increased during their most recent airings, while the perpetually sinking Emmys last year hit an all-time viewership low.
